Body Building Competition

Dont worry my hand is better and I felt pretty lame when I came to district meeting with the elders and one of the elders had fell off their bike and had bruises every where. I was much more fortunate to have a running accident haha. Everything feels better though and I havent stopped running...well ok maybe we walked really fast today haha.
Anyway I am glad to hear that you got the letter. the tithing money, and the picture card. Have you looked at the pictures? That card ends at like....mid transfer my last transfer in Oxnard...I think..something like that.
Tell Lisa to check her mail because I'm sending her a letter today in the mail. Old school. Also tell Dave im picturing him crying to SYTYCD and its giving me great joy. Haha.
This week was...really stressful....and really incredible. First off I am super grateful that I have the companion I do right now..she is amazing and really has helped me when I feel stressed and shes really good at just talking with me... STILL IN SPANISH. I wont lie Im a little proud of our strength to only speak spanish. Shes great.
But we have been striving to follow the spirit as much as possible, we also do that as missionaries but I dont know what has been different this week...I guess we are just more aware of t he Lords hand and timing in everything. We were able to have great conversations with people and invite them to come unto Christ by simply dont stressing so much about exactly what our agenda said.
We also had a goodbye devotional with our President...it was so sad but exciting. Im so grateful to be in the middle of a president change because I will get the chance to love TWO people so much! President Murri and Sister Murri are so awesome, inspiring, and understanding. Us Hermanas got to give a goodbye hug to president. WEIRD. FIrst man hug in 5 months. Me and my companion get to go to the Temple tomorrow (yay yay yay yay yay) so as soon as we are done with our emails we are going back to work (we have to cut our Pday short to be able to go to the temple). But we have been praying to have a really good experience there and at our president's meeting he gave us some advice as a group of what we should do the next time we go and some things we should study. The Lord was pretty much saying Hna Tippetts y Hna Burch...here you go. Seriously. AMAZING.
We are working really hard and Im really happy with our efforts, we are inviting everyone to come unto Christ in the best way we know how (and we are imperfect humans) and the Lord is making up for the rest. We are putting everything into His hands and working as hard as possible to complete our end of the deal. Im expecting Miracles.
We have a couple we teach Erika and Genaro and they are like family to me, every time we go to their house I feel like home.
Im turning more and more white...haha i still teach all spanish people but we rarely eat with them. I feel like that is a huge part of the Mexican culture...soooo ya Ill have to work on that. Horchata anyone?? Mmmmmm. I will buy some..dont worry.
Ok sorry this letter is scatter brained I didnt really make a list or anything.
Family volleyball sounds so fun!! Dont stress about it mom, people are always happy for the option to get together, and the Tippetts family knows its not an invite only thing.
Chrissy sent me some pictures last week and I loved them so much!! It made me realize that really a lot is changing though. Crazy. But thats ok.
You guys are so awesome! Go to the temple!! Read the scriptures! Pray!
Also tell Branden Kendall Ryanne and Erika that I will be writting them next week!

LOVE YOU FAMILY!

Corn is not attractive

Family, first of all yes I recieved both of your letters. THANK YOU SO MUCH. you guys are so amazing. THanks Mom for keeping me updated on all that is going on in good Ol Las Vegas.

I wont lie I was really sad when I found out the Handys are moving. I cant picture coming home without the Handys being there. How is Vanessa going to visit?? :( And the Handys have been such a good influence in the ward and the community. Sad to see them go.

Well...this will be another quick one. But so I dont forget can you get Blake's address for me so I can write him? also maybe you could ask Lori to get the address of Jordan Edgel. THanks.

Also you "missionary moms" are noobs haha
I am so happy to hear dad is recovering well! Tell him to write me and Happy Fathers Day! I actually thought of Mariah this morning and was like woaaa...she is going to be a high school graduate and I thought for a milisecond of my life at that time. Weird. I can hardly imagine. DOnt want to....ah. Aw I love Brianna I bet she is having so much fun in Idaho. I just sent her a letter to her house in Vegas. WHoops. Hopefully Ill have her address there soon.

SO these are so points from my week...

SO one day we were knocking doors and behind us we hear "muchachas guerras" Which pretty much means white girls...so we both snap our heads back and the man who said it like scurried off. I love when they think we dont speak spanish hahahaha.

OH thanks for sending the testigos my way. I am sending you a picture of me and one of their fliers that has a picture of Voldy (voldemort) on it...

Ok so we run every morning..and I suck at waking up but I am awake at 623 every morning. Well so we ran a different way the other day and I was still half asleep and I guess I didnt pick up my feet very much because i totally ate it. Also I put all of my weight on my right hand and thought...this has to be broken. Luckily no...i just have some gnarly cuts and it hurts a little bit. BUT good news Spanish people totally do the dead fish handshake so I dont have to worry about it very much hahahaha.

So the 20 year old that we live with (well her parents). She works at the cheesecake factory and the other day she brought a slice of red velvet cheesecake home for me. Hallelujah!

So Erika y Genaro arent getting baptized right now and things are kinda hectic with them but i am just over come with love and concern for them and I wouldnt trade that feeling for anything.

Oh yeah...so ive been eating corn for like every meal for a week...because its really cheap. haha.

Ok I love you all so much. Read the Book of Mormon because its true. I know the Lord will guide us and protect us when we are doing the things we are suppose to be doing.

I love youuuu!!

Oh and the other pictures are one of me and my comp with flans and our matching outfits that we didnt mean to wear. Then with me and Erika and her kids.

The week of Jehovah Witnesses

Oh life...hey family. How is it going? I always enjoy reading your emails, especially to hear that dad's operation went well. Hopefully his birthday did as well. As well as Lori's and Vanessa's. DId you guys do anything for his birthday? Was it Jaden's birthday or did you just have a party for him? Sounds like a Mexican family to me...finding any reason to have a family party. I'm down with that. When is Jayden's birthday anyway? Does Connor Simpson have an older brother named Preston? Because if so I'm friends with him...in fact I know they are siblings because me and Preston use to joke about being family. Haha. Oh and by the way I dont cover the Thousand Oaks stake.. I cover the Newbury Park stake but we go in part of thousand oaks and agorah hills

Well...it really has been a crazy week and I have learned so much...so I guess I'll just go done my notes for you. Some are funny and some are just things going on.

-Ok so one night we were walking down the street in "Las Casitas" and a bunch of little hooligans were like "God Bless you Seeesters". Oh man it just made me laugh the way they said it. It was total Nacho Libre style.

-So since we are just a little group of spanish joined with an English ward our meetings with the ward missionaries and all are in English so me and my companion have to translate to the spanish ward missionaries. AH! Its seriously so crazy.

-Haha ok and then one night we were looking for less actives and we came up to this door and knocked and then a little kid up in a window opened the window and was like "what?" or something like that and we were trying to tell him to tell an adult to come down. Well my companion was like "quieres una esticker??" Which just means "do you want a sticker" ...hahah I think I teased her for sounding creepy all day. Do you want some candddy? Come over to me van...

-It has really been a week of Testigos de Jehovah...Jehovahs Witnesses. We have run into atleast like 3 of them a day..it was crazy. And one of the less actives we found is now a jehovahs witness and talking to him like hurt our souls so bad. Just the things he was saying were awful. BUT we didnt want satan to get us down so we got into the car..prayed..sang a hymn and got on with the Lords work. SO then we went knocking and we got flipped off at the first door. Ha. What the heck...
Im pretty sure its because Im working on having more patience. Haha sorry companion...

-Then there is just so much drama with one of our investigators but last night was such a sweet experience. We dropped by to see her when we didnt have plans to do so...and me and my companion both were able to listen to the spirit and share scriptures with her that we have no idea why we thought of them. IT was such a spiritual experience for all 3 of us. I wish I could go into detail but we have to leave super soon.

-Lastly I have been so touched at how important the temple is. How everything we do should point us there and not take us off track. Ive always known that chastity is a huge commandment but Im learning more and more about why God does things, and I know when we do things Gods way we will be blessed with so much happiness that we can't even imagine.

I love you guys so much! I hope all is well. Mom I really liked your lesson about member missionaries. Its SO important to share the gospel as a member. I wish I would have been better at it. Its the best thing we have, why dont we share it? With the Living and the Dead? We need to do more temple work as well.

OK LOVE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT WEEK and I will talk to you next week!

Tell dad happy fathers day and I love him sooo much but I wont be able to get a letter out to him this week for lack of stamps but that I think about him always and he is such an amazing Dad!

Newbury park, California!!

Hola from "Los Robles"....or Newbury Park! Woo hoo! Man usually weeks FLY by here...and I guess this last week did as well but I can't believe Ive only been here for a week. So I guess I will tell you about my new area. Hermana Burch (my new companion see picture) are the only spanish missionaries in the whole stake. SO that means our area is the whole stake. We cover the Thousand Oaks stake. I'm pretty sure Bishop Craig said he grew up here? Maybe. If so he's lucky because it is SO beautiful here! I love it. Sure its not the coast but its right over the hill. The work here is so different than Oxnard..for one Oxnard had 2 spanish wards in the city and we have a "group" that is part of an English ward...i think were 20 spanish members there on Sunday. Crazy and all the Spanish people live in random pockets. We are so excited though because we have come up with a plan and I really think we are going to see miracles from it. Anyway so we live with members the Deffense family. They are super cool. She served a mission in Chile and hes from Portugal. They have 2 sons on missions one in Brazil and one in Portugal. Then they have a 20 year old daughter that lives at home. Its so different, but I like it.
Hermana Burch and I speak only spanish with eachother and thats also different, i like it a lot, I think my spanish will definitley improve. The only problem is its kinda hard to really get to know each other, but thats ok itll work out. She is a super awesome missionary and is from a little town near Seattle.
One thing I love is that I actually got to do a random act of service in Oxnard we always offered to help people but they never let us, the other day we saw someone washing his car and we totally helped him. It was super fun.
We have a couple people preparing for baptism and they are so amazing! I love them so much!
I got Mariah's graduation announcement in the mail! Its so pretty! I can't believe shes graduating, thats so weird. Congrats on graduating from seminary too!
Mom school sounds like it is keeping you busy but thank goodness there is a light at the end of the tunnel! That is so exciting! Do you have to take off a lot of work to do it?
Dad...glad to hear you have healthy lungs...and stuff haha. Good luck with surgery I will have you in my prayers and am sure glad you will have a new ...belly button. Will it look normal?? Ugh...belly buttons are just weird.
Oh..random note...the other pictures are from Oxnard one is with some kids of a family we were teaching and the other is with my zone leaders in Oxnard..I really don't know what we were doing or why I am sending it but there ya go..haha. Didn't send it the family history computers are too slow haha
Everyone sounds like they are doing great and I'm super glad to hear that! Oh so...haha I'm awful but could you tell Vanessa I totally knew it was her birthday yesterday and was totally thinking of her but I still havent gotten stamps..but I am writing her a letter today and hopefully will send it tomorrow. Also Happy Birthday to Dad and Lori! Love you all!
I have an amazing family and I am so grateful for you all! Have a good week!

I know I can't say "ROllin hard in the 'Nard anymore...I'll have to come up with something cool for Newbury Park...

Hermana Tippetts

Also...tell bishop I will write the ward...when I get stamps. Sorry!
